Bunny Cupcake in a Mason Jar Recipe – Fun Easter Cupcake Idea!

Whether you’re religious or not, Easter is a great excuse to get the whole family together for some quality time. From great conversations to delicious food to easy Easter crafts, the holiday is perfect for gathering everyone together. For our family get-togethers, I like to make sure there’s plenty of tasty portable food on hand, including sweet treats like this adorable bunny cupcake in a Mason jar.

Portable foods, like this bunny shaped veggie platter and bunny shaped fruit platter, allow people to circulate versus keeping them confined to one place (like the dining room table). In addition, portable foods, like this Easter cupcake idea, tend to be smaller so you can try a variety of dishes.

As mentioned above, this Easter cupcake idea is adorable. In fact, it’s almost too cute to eat. The green sprinkles look like fresh grass, the pastel sprinkles look like spring flowers, and the little chocolate rabbit is just perched there. This cupcake in a Mason jar is a great way to celebrate Easter or just the start of spring. (Or both.) Seriously, this Mason jar recipe is so tasty, you’re family will be begging you to make it again soon!

This particular Easter cupcake idea is really simple. You start with a boxed cake mix so there’s no pressure to whip something up entirely from scratch, which is fantastic if you have a bunch of other dishes to make. If you’re not a regular baker, you might find the idea of applying frosting a bit intimidating, but don’t. For this recipe in a jar, you’re going to flatten the frosting with a butter knife so there’s no need to get fancy. Then it’s just adding sprinkles and a chocolate bunny.

If these cupcakes in a Mason jar aren’t quite enough to sooth your family’s sweet tooth, you can also make M&M Easter bark and cinnamon roll “cinnabunnies”. The cinnabunnies are fantastic to wake up to on Easter morning. Serve them with fresh fruit like strawberries. Yum!

Another great thing about this Mason jar recipe is that the kids can help out. You (probably) won’t have too big a mess on your hands if you let them add the sprinkles or chocolate bunnies. Notice I said probably.
😉

Personally, I love recipes like these cupcakes in a Mason jar that the kids can help out with as it allows me and the kiddo to spend some quality time together (and I can better keep an eye on him). If he’s not helping me I feel like I constantly have to run into the other room to find out what that sound was. Here are some other fun Easter recipes that kids can help with.

Now… on to the cupcakes!
